Since the Torah School was established in 1994, we have grown from 82 students to almost 385 students from kindergarten through grade six, serving families throughout the Washington metropolitan area. In spite of this incredible growth, our children continue to learn in an environment where every individual’s needs are met and each student is encouraged to reach his or her maximum potential both in and out of the classroom. Whether through one-on-one support or supervised group interactions, we create the environment that each child needs to thrive.
TSGW invests in faculty through professional development initiatives and mentoring of new teachers. Well-trained and deeply appreciated staff members create challenging, exciting classroom environments. As we reflect on 28 years of educating Jewish children, we are proud to have as our continual ideal and guiding force: “Chanoch la’na’ar al pi darko” (Educate each child according to his or her nature.) – Mishlei 22:6.
“Until I became a parent at TSGW, I could not imagine that a school could be so great! The kids are so genuinely happy, and the teachers are always reaching higher, and Rabbi Charner is so involved. It’s tremendously unique and satisfying. I am a truly happy parent, and I hear the same thing from so many other parents in the school, as well!”
The environment is warm and nurturing. It’s such a friendly place to be! The Torah school has the best staff that care for everyone!
“I am a community member and proud grandparent of three students at TSGW. I am so pleased with the school and Rabbi Charner. The personal attention given to each child; the functions that are hosted for parents, grandparents, and the community; and the outstanding group of teachers are extremely impressive. The whole community is enriched simply by their presence among us.”
Our mission is to cultivate a love for Torah, Judaism, and Eretz Yisrael and foster excitement for learning in each student.
