About Us
Since the Torah School was established in 1994, we have grown from 82 students to almost 385 students from kindergarten through grade six, serving families throughout the Washington metropolitan area. In spite of this incredible growth, our children continue to learn in an environment where every individual’s needs are met and each student is encouraged to reach his or her maximum potential both in and out of the classroom. Whether through one-on-one support or supervised group interactions, we create the environment that each child needs to thrive.
TSGW invests in faculty through professional development initiatives and mentoring of new teachers. Well-trained and deeply appreciated staff members create challenging, exciting classroom environments. As we reflect on 28 years of educating Jewish children, we are proud to have as our continual ideal and guiding force: “Chanoch la’na’ar al pi darko” (Educate each child according to his or her nature.) – Mishlei 22:6.
The Torah School of Greater Washington is a Torah Umesorah affiliate, founded to serve families from all segments of the Greater Washington community. We welcome all children of the Jewish faith, as defined by Halachah, without regard to the affiliation, background, or degree of religious practice in the home. We are open to students, faculty, and administrative staff of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.
